Big Joes and Little Joes are highly capable, but often problematic. Large pressure cuts and high capacities make this equipment one of the most common freezing problems in the industry. Catco has protected tens of thousands of Big Joe & Little Joe regulators. Decades of results have made Catco the industry’s preferred partner to keep these regulators running.
The most popular way to keep your Big Joe or Little Joe running is with a heated enclosure package. A stainless steel enclosure houses a catalytic heater that directs safe, flameless, infrared heat at the body of the regulator. The spring casing is left outside of the enclosure for easy access and to protect the soft goods. Simplicity and reliability have made Heated Enclosure Packages the industry standard for decades.

If there is intermittent flow or your regulator is in a difficult-to-access location, heating the gas upstream of your regulator can be the better solution. Catco Pipeline Packs mount onto the pipe upstream of your Big or Little Joe. This delivers heated gas while avoiding direct heat to a no-flow regulator. Pipeline Packs are easy to install to an existing length of pipe, so installation is fast and simple.
