The model 26-1040 provides preheated instrument gas for applications such as motor valves and pilot operated regulators, where freezing can develop. In the 26-1040, high pressure gas is heated as it passes sequentially through a Kimray 2000 psi drip pot, a Meco high pressure regulator and a Fisher 67 supply gas regulator. The drip pot and the high pressure Meco regulator are enclosed in a stainlesssteel case and are heated by a 1500 btu catalytic heater. The package includes a Fisher 912 regulator to provide fuel gas for the catalytic heater.
The table below shows options included with our most popular configurations, but Catco is always happy to configure a unit to your exact specifications. Just contact us and we will be glad to help.
| Model Number | Pipe Size | BTU/hr | Length | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 70-044 | 1″ to 4″ | 3000 or 6000 | 14″ | 18 lbs |
| 70-045 | 1″ to 4″ | 6000 or 12,000 | 26″ | 24 lbs |

All of our 5000 series come with optional thermocouples and shutoff valves.
Controlled heat in gas heating systems prevents overheating, protects sensitive instrumentation, and ensures long-term operational stability.
Cold weather doesn’t fail gas systems the same way. Environmental exposure, pressure drops from the Joule-Thomson effect, and reactive winterization each create different failure paths during winter operations.
A quiet night in the field turned into a frozen nightmare by morning. A single regulator froze solid, halting flow and production — a reminder that in the oil and gas world, freeze-ups don’t wait for tomorrow.
At CATCO, energy resilience is the mission. Our goal at PBIOS 2025 is to educate the industry on freeze protection and reliable heating solutions.
