Every 100 psi of pressure drop reduces gas temperature by 7°F. In high-pressure regulators, temperature losses of over 100°F are common. This is why companies in all facets of natural gas production, measurement, transportation, and distribution use Catco to prevent these problems before they start.
In cases of constant high flow, heating the regulator directly can be the most reliable option. Catco Heated Enclosure Packages clamshell around the regulator. A catalytic heater directs safe, flameless, infrared heat at the regulator body, keeping your equipment warm and your gas flowing. The simple and easy installation and operation have made Heated Enclosure Packages a preferred solution throughout the industry.
Designed to fit a Fisher 1301, Belgas P39, Victor Meco Type P, BMD RG40, or other similar equipment.
1500 or 3000 BTU/hr.
Designed to fit a two-stage regulator with gauges such as Tescom or other similar equipment.
1500 or 3000 BTU/hr.
High-pressure regulators can be protected by preheating the gas with an Instrument Gas Heater. Stainless-steel heat exchange tubing passes through an insulated enclosure, and a catalytic heater raises the temperature of the gas, air, or other fluid flowing through it. The heated gas temperature is delivered to the regulator so it stays flowing even with large pressure cuts.
