Pipeline & Process Stream Heating

Increase temperature, increase performance.

There are many applications where the temperature of a stream flowing through a pipe or tube run may need to be increased. Gas temperature upstream of pressure regulation, glycol heat trace, and CNG letdown applications are a few examples of where Catco can help.

Pipeline Packs

Catco Pipeline Packs are extremely useful for heating a stream of gas that is flowing through a pipe to protect valves, regulators, chokes, and other equipment. The principle is simple. Catalytic heaters warm the pipe and the pipe warms what flows through it. The ease of use and installation has made them a widely used solution in gas production, compression, transportation, and utilities.

For heavy-duty applications. Uses four 6×24 catalytic heaters. Installation requires a 27″ length of pipe upstream of the regulator. 24,000 BTU/hr. Available in a variety of starting voltages. Multiple units can be applied in series for higher BTU requirements. See data sheet for full specifications.

For medium-duty applications. Uses one or two 6×24 catalytic heaters. Installation requires a 27″ length of pipe upstream of the regulator. 6000 or 12,000 BTU/hr. Available in a variety of starting voltages. See data sheet for full specifications.

For light-duty applications. Uses one or two 6×12 catalytic heaters. Installation requires a 15″ length of pipe upstream of the regulator. 3000 or 6000 BTU/hr. Available in a variety of starting voltages. See data sheet for full specifications.

Instrument Gas Heaters

Catco Instrument Gas Heaters are protecting tens of thousands of pilot operated regulators like Mooney Flowgrid, Fisher EZR, Pietro Fiorentini Aperflux, and more. They can also be used any time there’s a threat of freezing with an instrument gas or instrument air supply. Stainless steel heat exchange tubing passes through an insulated enclosure, and a catalytic heater raises the temperature of the gas or air flowing through it.

2600 Series Single Coil Pilot Preheaters

Single or Dual Heat Exchangers

Single heat exchangers heat one stream of gas, ideal for a single piece of equipment. The dual heat exchanger is a popular choice for worker/monitor setups and or any time two pieces of equipment are located near one another.

High Pressure Fuel Manifolds

Catco Instrument Gas Heaters offer several options for high-pressure manifolds and include both a regulator and relief valve. Stainless-steel and brass options are available from several top manufacturers.

5000 Series Single Coil Pilot Preheaters

Temperature Control

Only Catco offers the Steady Heat Controller. A hot and cold stream of gas are combined to provide a steady supply of heated gas that stays at a constant 135-140° F regardless of your operating conditions. Traditional thermostats are also available.

5000 Series Double Coil Pilot Preheaters

2600 or 5000 Series

The Catco 2600 Series has been the industry standard for decades and continues to work brilliantly in most conditions. The 5000 Series delivers more BTUs to keep you operational in especially harsh conditions and demanding applications.

Custom Solutions

The standard options above have helped tens of thousands of people, but some situations have requirements that demand a more sophisticated design. Catco has decades of experience in making custom heating solutions to raise the temperature of a process stream. Whether it’s as simple as a custom configuration for an Instrument Gas Heater or a heat exchange system designed from the ground up, we’d love to partner with you to achieve the results you need.
